Mission
Autism Skates Atlanta, established on August 3, 2021, emerged from a highly praised Masters Program assignment. We launched our program on February 28, 2023, at Cascade Family Skating in collaboration with Autism Paints and Therapists.
Our mission is to use roller skating as a unique and effective method to engage and teach students, particularly those with autism, addressing educational gaps and enhancing core foundational skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). Our approach incorporates character-building aspects such as confidence, self-esteem, teamwork, goal setting, patience, and selflessness.

In 2020, the CDC reported that approximately 1 in 36 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), according to the NAA (National Autism Association).
